Vice Principal

Samuel Kingsford Twene is a dedicated lecturer with a passion for cultivating students' curiosity about the world and its social dynamics. He started his education at Asare D/C Primary School in the then Jaman District, currently the Jaman South Municipality, but he left for AKAB Complex Preparatory School in Berekum after three years. He had two years of Junior Secondary School Education between 1997 and 1998 at the Berekum Roman Catholic Mixed Junior Secondary School where he obtained his Basic Education Certificate and proceeded to the then Sunyani Secondary School in 1999.

In 2002, he gained admission at the University of Cape Coast to read Bachelor of Education (Social Studies) and graduated in 2006. After his first degree, he was posted to Notre Dame Girls’ Senior High School for his national service and was subsequently recruited as a permanent teacher by dint of hard work and dedication to duty. Whilst there, he gained admission to pursue a Master of Philosophy degree in Geography and Rural Development at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2013 and graduated in 2016. He was offered employment at St. Ambrose College of Education; Dormaa Akwamu as a lecturer in October 2017 where he has been till date.

In 2019, he enrolled on a PhD programme in Geography and Rural Development at KNUST and completed it in March, 2014. Shortly after, he was appointed as the Acting Vice Principal of St. Ambrose College of Education. As a Geographer, the aim is to foster critical thinking and geographic awareness in students with the view to enabling them appreciate the interconnectedness of global and societal issues while promoting a lifelong love for geography.
