Dean of Students

The Office of the Students’ Affairs Officer (Dean of Students) is one of the key units of the College’s management team. The office works with support of the entire management team and, more especially, with the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), Counseling Unit, and Senior Hall Tutors to provide general welfare services to the various student groups on campus. Its primary role is to provide support and services to students inside and outside of the academic realm, focusing on their well-being, academic life and overall success during their educational journey and it must be in line with the College’s mission and vision.

Mission The mission of the Students’ Affairs Office is To educate students regarding the College’s expected behavior, protect students’ rights, and assure fairness and due process.

Vision
The vision of the Students’ Affairs Office is that the entire campus community will demonstrate civility and respect, that issues of bad conduct will be eliminated through training and education on behavioral standards, and that all students will successfully accomplish their goals at St. Ambrose College of Education and beyond.

St. Ambrose Students’ Affairs office was established in 2009 as soon as the college was established and its primary concern is students’ welfare from entry to graduation. The office has had two Deans of Students since the establishment of the College. The first Dean was Mr. Joseph Afful and the current one is Mr. Mark Acheampong.

The office of the Students’ Affairs has achieved a lot since its inception. It has established and strengthened professional associations; it offers a balanced spiritual environment for all religions to thrive; it creates a conducive environment for persons with disabilities and also refers persons with challenges to the appropriate places for help.

The Dean’s office is mandated to perform the following duties and any other duties assigned him\her by the College Principal as stated on the appointment letter.
